Jacob was born and brought up in the Baton Rouge, LA area. Music has always been a huge part of his life. He started playing sax in school and picked up other instruments along the way. After high school, Jacob put down the sax and focused on playing guitar and singing. In 2002, he moved to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands with his family and linked up with Corey Saucier. Corey, Jacob, and Jeremy Crenshaw (Jacob's brother) played together on island under the name, "Fubar" and then again when relocated to Columbus, GA as "All for The Better".
After going their separate ways, Jacob eventually moved back to Louisiana and linked back up with Corey, driving across south Louisiana to play acoustic shows and occasionally sit in with Ashes of Babylon on vocals. He then picked up the saxaphone after over a decade of not playing when he, Sammy P, & Corey got together in Lake Charles one afternoon in early 2008 to jam. He learned a few AoB tunes & has been a member since then.
