Originally from Lake Arthur, LA, Sammy P. spent most his days growing up in Sulphur, LA. Music has always played an important role in his life. At age 11, he received his first saxophone and at age 12 his first bass guitar. In high school, he played in the school marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band, but also got to experiment with his creativity playing bass and writing songs in the discount punk rock trio, Oliver's Hog Leg. When Sam went to college, a career in music seemed to be the only option which interested him. While pursuing a degree in musical performance on saxophone he studied under Rick Condit who had a dramatic effect on his playing skills as well as his understanding of music. During this time, Sammy P. began playing sax with Corey Saucier and Max Sprigg in what would be the start of AoB.
